Simon Norridge covers five
countries in this article on remuneration and employee benefits in
Africa: Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The broad perspective
taken is that of multinational companies and their local staff. After
a brief economic preamble on each country, two staff levels are considered:
a senior management position and a clerical support staff role. These
two levels are analysed vis-à-vis both pay/bonuses and benefits
(including company cars, housing, pensions, medical and life cover,
and loans).
